Mr. Kim is a corporate renewal and restructuring advisor focusing on lower middle market companies facing financial or operational distress. He also assists clients who are involved with troubled companies, whether their interest is in recovering a loan or an investment, or in acquiring or disposing of distressed companies, business units or assets. Since 1988, Mr. Kim has worked in the turnaround or insolvency industry. He has been involved with troubled companies as a bankruptcy lawyer, business analyst and as a turnaround practitioner. Prior to founding
r2 advisors, Mr. Kim was an originator and asset manager with Republic Financial Corporation, a private investment company based in Denver, where he recovered troubled loans and performed valuations of distressed companies from an investor’s perspective. Prior to Republic, Mr. Kim was an attorney with LeBoeuf, Lamb, Greene & MacRae, LLP, where he practiced bankruptcy and corporate law. Mr. Kim holds a Bachelor of Science in economics from the University of Utah and a J.D. and MBA from the School of Law and the School of Business Administration at Santa Clara University. Presently, Mr. Kim serves as the global President of the Turnaround Management Association and member of TMA's Board of Directors. In the past he has served as VP of Finance and VP of Membership. He has also served as a member of TMA’s Executive Committee and Chair of TMA’s Chapter Resource and Response Council.
Mr. Feehan is a business advisor who has significant experience as a crisis project manager with a particular emphasis on the accounting and finance disciplines. He has assisted numerous clients through various stages of restructuring, including out of court workouts, liquidations and bankruptcy cases. Mr. Feehan served as the court appointed liquidating agent for a major transport services company. He has assisted numerous financial institutions in protecting their loans to financially stressed companies including the sale of major business units and the winding down of operations. Mr. Feehan has significant experience with the preparation and implementation of budgeting and financial forecasting. He has served as the VP Finance, CFO and controller for numerous entities both on a full time and part time basis. Mr. Feehan holds a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Nebraska and a Master of Taxation from the University of Denver.
Mr. Rudolph brings more than a quarter century of financial experience to the firm. His extensive financial knowledge and diverse professional background brings a depth and span of expertise in a broad range of industries.
His 12 year tenure with a Big 4 public accounting firm combined with over a decade with such titles as Chief Financial Officer, Chief Operating Officer and Chief Executive Officer; each challenge and responsibility leading to success for the respective companies. He has provided leadership and direction, through business growth and financial restructuring, ensured stability and confidence for employees, customers and shareholders and has experience working with companies in various stages and life cycles from venture-funded start-up to publicly held, SEC & Sarbanes & Oxley reporting companies.
Mr. Rudolph graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree from Wittenberg University and holds a Master of Business Administration from the University of Denver.
Mr. Johnson offers 30 years of CEO, COO and CFO corporate executive experience with middle-market companies across multiple industries and was managing partner of a boutique investment banking firm. He has an extensive background in guiding companies through challenging periods of change and revitalization, particularly those requiring operational and/or financial restructuring/reorganization. Mr. Johnson most recently served as CEO of a severely distressed $40 million security services business which he led through an operational reorganization to achieve cash flow break-even and a subsequent financial/legal restructuring. His previous accomplishments include: advising the investors of a $60 million security business through a chapter 11 reorganization and concurrent class action litigation, then leading a post-bankruptcy organizational rebuild, operational turnaround, and sale to ADT Security for $150 million; reengineering ADT’s organizational structure, leading to a $6.5 billion sale to Tyco International; positioning a cash-strapped $35 million laser-radar technology company for a $72 million sale to Lockheed Martin five months after he joined. Mr. Johnson holds a BS in Economics from Muskingum University, a J.D. from the University of Colorado School of Law, and an LL.M. in Taxation from the University of Denver Graduate Tax Program. An inactive attorney and retired CPA who began his career with Arthur Andersen & Co., he is a member of the Turnaround Management Association, the Association for Corporate Growth, and the National Association of Corporate Directors.
Mr. Gallaher is a business advisor with expertise in executive management, including organizational leadership, operations, strategic planning, finance and accounting, administration, systems, and personnel. He has extensive experience with rapidly growing companies and teambuilding, particularly in the aviation industry, having served as an executive of two private jet charter companies (including roles as vice president, CFO, COO and president). Mr. Gallaher led one of the jet charter companies through a Chapter 11 bankruptcy case, resulting in the sale of the company’s assets via a 363 sale. He has substantial experience in other industries including manufacturing and financial services. He holds a commercial pilot certificate and was a member of the United States Marine Corps. Mr. Gallaher holds a Bachelor of Arts in business administration with an accounting emphasis and a Master of Professional Accounting with a tax emphasis from the University of Washington.
Mr. Sorokin is a business advisor who specializes in strategic planning and performance improvement targeting manufacturing and service oriented companies, domestically and internationally. He has a strong ability to manage diverse resources and exceed goals through increased efficiencies, quality improvements and cost reductions. Mr. Sorokin has a proven track record of leading turnarounds, change and crisis management, and re-engineering administrative processes at the executive level for industries around the world. He has worked with companies in the biotech, pharmaceuticals, medical devices, consumer goods, food and beverage, furniture, telecommunications and transportation industries. Mr. Sorokin holds a BSEE and a Master’s degree in Biomedical Engineering from the University of Texas at Austin. He is fluent in English, Spanish and Hebrew. Mr. Sorokin is based in our San Diego office.
Mr. Leder is a business advisor with expertise in accounting and senior financial management with companies that are under financial stress. He began his career at The Pillsbury Company in Minneapolis. After 6 years with Pillsbury, Mr. Leder began working as an accounting manager with lower middle market companies in various industries. He then began his practice advising companies that are facing some type of stress, particularly with their accounting and finance functions. He has led the accounting and finance function at EagleSpan Steel Structures during its turnaround phase and facilitated the acquisition of the company by a private investment group. Mr. Leder has served as the interim controller of a Chapter 11 debtor as it operated in bankruptcy prior to being sold to a strategic buyer. He is particularly adept at helping clients identify and implement processes and controls around the finance and accounting functions. Mr. Leder holds a Bachelor of Arts in business with a finance emphasis from Concordia College.
Mrs. Busch is primarily responsible for r² advisors’ internal operations. She manages the firm’s administration, which includes assisting with the needs of the firm’s clients and professionals. In addition, Mrs. Busch provides support for the firm’s client relationships, including analytical, research and administrative support as necessary to ensure that the firm’s clients receive the highest level of service. Prior to joining r² advisors, Mrs. Busch obtained her real estate license and gained experience in commercial and residential real estate. She also served as the office manager for a subcontractor based in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Mrs. Busch holds a Bachelor of Science in Hospitality and Tourism Management from New Mexico State University.
